As the Robertson family reels from hate and frustration from politically correct individuals around the world I struggle with an equally tough question. Where does Political Correctness (PC) fall?
On one side being PC is trying to create a group where only common ideas are communicated and any idea which makes someone “feel bad” (Meaning anyone) is a bad thing. This to me seems pretty sheep driven as it creates a template for all to follow with no deviation. This also create a sure fire set of rules and the ability to chastise people who do not follow those rules.
On the other hand, it always seems the PC groups are not the mainstream and often represent a subset of the flock instead of the entire flock which creates confusion. In my opinion it is often the PC people that create the most non-PC situations and statements and sometimes incite frustrations that could potentially be avoided if they actually believed in the free speech that they hide behind.
It would be great if there were an easy answer here, but it appears that the PC police are actually wolves guiding the herd in their own direction, perhaps to eventually be lambs for the slaughter even though they are protecting a group inside the group. In this case, time and agendas will tell, but everyone should be cautious when blending to the PC norm and not thinking though their own opinions.
